TOPIC: Conditions For Fruit-Bearing (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 14 July 2019)

MEMORY VERSE: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” – Colossians 1:10
The MESSAGE:
God wants us (His children) to be all-season fruit bearing beings. The first blessing He pronounced on man was that he should be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over living things (Genesis 1:28). The Bible also enjoins us to be fruitful spiritually. In John 15:16, Jesus said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
Let us examine some of the essential conditions for fruit-bearing. For you to bear fruit in God’s kingdom, the first condition is that you must have contact with the Living Water. That is, you must be born again and be fed and nourished by the Holy Spirit, the Living Water. Psalm 1:3 affirms this, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” The second essential condition for bearing fruit is spiritual sensitivity. Matthew 13:23 says, “But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” The word of God bestows on believers the power to be spiritually sensitive and fruitful. You should make hearing, reading and doing the word of God a lifestyle. You will be fruitful all-year round and always.
Another condition you need to fulfil to bear fruit is that the old life must die. The death of the old life will pave way for the emergence of the new life. The Bible corroborates this in John 12:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” The old life is the life of sin and unrighteousness, the life driven by the flesh, the carnal nature and the devil. You must die to sin and to the flesh to bear fruit. Also, for you to bear fruit, you must subject yourself to divine pruning or bear the chastening of the Lord. Jesus established this fact in John 15:2, “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” Finally, for you to bear fruit, you must abide in Christ. In John 15:5, the Bible says, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Beloved, I pray that the Lord will empower you to meet all the foregoing conditions for fruit bearing and make you an all-season fruit-bearing tree, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING - Power of the flesh assigned to hinder me from bearing fruit, die, in the name of Jesus.
- My Father, prune me and make me bear more fruits, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, help and enable me to abide in You, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, let my fruits abide, in the name of Jesus.
