FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 28:11-22; Genesis 12:7-8 (KJV)
Genesis 28:11-28;
11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21 So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
Genesis 12:7-8;
7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.

The MESSAGE:
The devotional hour is an altar that is different from other altars. An altar is basically a spiritual gateway that permits spiritual traffic. For example, the altar built by Abraham many years earlier, made the place become a spiritual gate which permitted spiritual traffic from heaven. Immediately, Jacob arrived there, he knew he had reached a gate of heaven. No wonder he said; “Surely, the Lord is in this place. This is none other but the house of God and this is the gate of heaven.” He said this because there was a traffic of angels who were going up and down. This was because Abraham had much earlier built an altar there when God appeared to him. So, by the time Jacob reached there he could see the place has become the gate of heaven. If the altar built by Abraham had been dedicated to the devil, Jacob would have seen it as a gateway for the traffic of demon.

Therefore, altars and shrines which are very common in our environment are gates, which can be used by demons, depending on the purposes in which they were initially erected. If an altar has been erected against you as a person, it means that a demonic traffic controller has been put in place against you and demons would keep going up and down because of you. Such a gate of evil will continually release evil angels and demons into a person’s life, because of the altar erected against that person.
When there is a shrine in your family house, it opens the gate to enemies who will keep coming in and going out. When people gather bananas, oranges and all kinds of things and take them to what you call a church, all you have done is to offer a sacrifice. From the erected altar, a gate is opened directly to the second heavens to the house of demons who will keep coming and going in and out. Jacob built an altar to the Lord. Which altar have you built? Settle this with the Lord today.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- You evil foundational plantations, come out of my life with all your roots, in the name of Jesus.
- I break and loose myself from every form of demonic bewitchment and control, in the name of Jesus.
- I release myself from every evil domination and control, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Let the blood of Jesus be transfused into my blood vessel.
- Let every gate opened to the enemy by my foundation be closed forever with the blood of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, walk back into every second of my life and deliver me where I need deliverance, heal me where I need healing, transform me where I need transformation.
- Let the power in the blood of Jesus separate me from the sins of my ancestors.
