TOPIC: Promises To Those Who Exercise Faith (I) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 20 September 2019)

MEMORY VERSE: “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22
The MESSAGE:
The just shall live by faith. It is impossible to please God without faith. All things are possible for everyone who believes God. God honours and rewards faith; He hates and condemns unbelief. Faith is accepting, obeying and acting on God’s word with absolute trust that God will do what He said He would do. Faith is having absolute trust in God’s unfailing ability, omnipotence and sovereignty. Faith is knowing that God cannot be limited and all things are His.

When Moses sent twelve spies to spy Canaan, the Promised Land; ten of the spies came with a negative report fuelled by doubt, fear and unbelief, that they would not be able to possess the land. Only two spies (Caleb and Joshua) said they would be able to. God rewarded the two categories of spies: the ten who brought negative report fuelled by fear did not enter the Promised Land while the two who said they could (Caleb and Joshua) entered the Promised Land. What does this teach us? There are special promises from God to those who exercise faith. Let us examine some of them:
First, those who exercise faith will receive answers to their prayers. The Bible affirms this in Matthew 21:22, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” Second, those who exercise faith in God will receive the reward of sonship (they will become sons and daughters of God). John 1:12 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” Similarly, in John 7:38, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
Another promise to those who exercise faith is that they will receive, wield and use the power of God. In John 14:12, Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” The scripture further affirms this truth in Romans 10:11 and Colossians 1:23.
In addition, those who exercise faith in God will experience spiritual rest. The truth is that those who live in unbelief cannot enter into God’s rest. In Hebrews 4:3, the Bible says, “For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.”
Beloved, resolve to exercise faith and enjoy these divine rewards. You will experience heaven on earth and spend eternity with the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, because I believe in You, let rivers of living water flow out of my belly, in the name of Jesus.
