18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

The handling of finances is one of the major emotional battle grounds of any marriage. Lack of finance is seldom the issues. The root problem seems to be an unrealistic and immature view of money.

God’s creative work was not complete until he made woman. He could have made her from dust of the ground as He made man; He chose to make her from the rib of the man.

God illustrated to us that in marriage, man and woman symbolically become one flesh. The goal for which marriage is created by God Himself should be more than friendship, it should be oneness. The two coming together shall be one flesh (Genesis 2:24b).
Couples should have plans for what will make their union successful. These should include the issue of money (finances). Financial problems can affect how you think, act and feel about your partner. It can cause hostility and marital dissatisfaction.
Money is important to the success or failure of any family. Your ability to make and manage money properly will determine how well you live with your spouse. Most times couples fight over the control of money in their marriages. There are so many factors that can lead to financial misunderstanding and your ability to handle them will determine how far you can go in your family.
The first one is secrecy. You must be opened to your spouse about your income. If your spouse is not part of your plan, he or she cannot be part of its execution. Remember you are one and no more two.
Secondly, make a distinction between your needs and wants. Needs in the marriage are essential for survival while wants are numerous. Learn how to place needs above wants.
The third factor that causes financial crisis at home is planless spending. That is, spending on what was not budgeted for. Try as much as possible to have a family budget and spend within your budget.
The other factor that cause crisis in families include: selfishness –mine or yours syndrome, excessive demand from extended family members, laziness and infidelity.
To overcome these crises, you must be diligent in your spending, be prudent and be opened to each other. Above all, see God as the Source and Provider of money in your home. Also, make Jesus the head and the cornerstone of your marriage.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- O Lord, uproot whatever You have not planted in my marriage, in the name of Jesus.
- Let the wisdom of God to take good and godly decisions come upon me and my wife/husband, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, release all heavenly blessings upon my marriage now, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- I break every curse of hardship in my marriage, in the name of Jesus.
- Blood of Jesus, nullify every demonic transaction affecting my marriage, in the name of Jesus.
- Let the glory of my marriage begin to manifest now, in the name of Jesus.
- I stand against every spirit of poverty and claim supernatural supply, in the name of Jesus.
