TOPIC: Kill Your Worries (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Thursday, 16 August 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 6:30-31
MEMORY VERSE: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” – Philippians 4:6
The MESSAGE:
Worry is a state of continuous deep thoughts over some unpleasant situations. It is to feel or cause to feel anxious or troubled about actual or potential problems. It is to think about problems or unpleasant things that might happen in a way that makes you feel unhappy and frightened. By these definitions, worry is an unproductive engagement of the thought faculty. You achieve virtually nothing by worrying but you lose unquantifiable things in the process. Medically, worrying releases stress hormones, which are dangerous to your health. Spiritually, worrying weakens our spiritual strength and faith in God. It makes us to carry our burdens by ourselves instead of relying on Jesus.
Jesus encouraged us to do away with a troubled heart and told us to believe in God and in Him also. Worry is an expression of faithlessness and preference to carry burdens by ourselves. It is listening to the voice of the flesh rather than the Spirit of God. It is setting aside the promises of God in the Scriptures and embracing the lies of satan. It is casting doubts on the ability of God to deliver according to His promises. It is saying expressly that God is no longer in charge nor in control of the situation. It is placing human wisdom above divine wisdom and saying you can handle your challenges better than God. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus said: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” The call is for you to trust Jesus for solution to your burdens and cares. As you come to Him, you will experience His peace as He lifts your burdens. He is the Prince of Peace and our burden bearer. He said in Matthew 6:30-31 that if God can take care of the grass of the field which is a material for fire, shall he not much more take care of us that are created in His image? Let your faith and confidence in God be strengthened and you shall come out of that troublesome situation unhurt, in Jesus’ name. Rejoice in the Lord always and declare boldly to satan that he is a loser. Let your heart be merry even in the face of harsh challenges as it is written that “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken” (Proverbs 17:22). Don’t allow worry and anxiety to dry you up and make you look older than your age. Don’t invite avoidable health challenges like hypertension and nervous breakdown into your life. If you want to enjoy good health and freedom from worries and anxiety, come to Jesus today and cast all your burden upon Him. You shall find rest unto your souls by His grace, in Jesus’ name.

3. O God my Father, take over my fears and anxiety, in the name of Jesus.

4. Peace of the Lord, come into my life unhindered, in the name of Jesus.
5. Joy of the Lord, fill me to overflowing, in the name of Jesus.
6. I receive divine strength to confront and overcome my challenges, in the name of Jesus.
7. Fearful thoughts and imaginations, I bind and cast you out of my life, in the name of Jesus.
