MESSAGE:
Disobedience is a deadly sin as written in our Bible text for today. Also, there is nothing like partial obedience: you either obey completely or disobey. The perfect example of the end of everyone that is disobedient is Lot’s wife who, after being commanded not to look back, disobeyed and eventually became a pillar of salt.
There are two things that can lead to disobedience: not taking a law/instruction seriously and daring the instructor to know if the punishment will really be meted out to the offender. Lot’s wife did not believe that God would really destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. She clearly wanted to see what would happen if she looked back: unfortunately, she did not live to tell the story. If you do not want to end like Lot’s wife or worse, start taking God’s commandments seriously because all He has said concerning the end of sinners will definitely come to pass.
