TOPIC – Watch Out For Spies (Open Heaven for Teens, 2 July 2026)

MEMORISE: A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back. Proverbs 29:11

BIBLE READING: Micah 7:5-6

5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

MESSAGE:

Spying is an act of secretly gathering information about someone or something without consent or authorisation. One major Way spies get information from their targets is through careless talk. There is a saying that if the enemy within one’s circle cannot kill a fellow, those outside cannot. Beloved, you need to watch out for spies, especially among your close circle. If you divulge too much information about your life, you may be in danger of a subtle attack from the enemy.

My dear child, don’t be someone with a loose tongue. There may be spies around you who are pretending to be your friend; therefore, you have to be careful of the information you let out. Don’t disclose sensitive information, especially online, because your posts or comments may be used against you in future. Also, if you have goals and dreams, don’t go about broadcasting them like Joseph did (Genesis 37:5-11). Even though he later fulfilled his destiny, he went through many years of slavery and hardship until God promoted him.

KEY POINT:
Be careful about the information you share.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 10:1-31, Numbers 31-32

HYMN 55: CHRISTIAN, SEEK NOT YET REPOSE

1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!”

2 Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.”

3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.”

4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!”

5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pra!.”

6 Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
