MESSAGE:
We all inherited the nature of sin from our first parents, Adam and Eve. We can also refer to this nature as carnality – the desire to fulfil the lust of the flesh. The nature of sin manifests in the lives of those who are led by the flesh and carry out the works of the flesh. Such people walk against the will and commands of God; they follow the Ways of the world, fulfilling and satisfying the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life (1 John 2:19).
If you have accepted Christ’s offer of salvation, you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a peculiar child of God who has been called out of darkness into God’s marvellous light. You have been adopted into God’s family, and you can now refer to Him as your Father. This is the best thing that can happen to anyone. If you are yet to give your life to Christ, the best time to do so is now.
If you are already a child of God, I implore you to hold fast to your faith until the end and stay away from friends and other influences that can lure you into sin. Walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16), follow the ways of God, and do the will of our Father.
REFLECTION:
If anyone is in Christ, he or she is God’s peculiar child.
