BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 29-31

MESSAGE

Faith is an act of believing in something or someone. In this case, it is believing in the reality of God as revealed in the Bible. When God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac on Mount Horeb, his faith in God was attached to the covenant God had made with him. I am sure he was confident that the God who gave him Isaac at the age of 100 could give him another child, and even if He didn’t, He would still fulfil His promise. This confidence in God is called faith.

Being full of faith comes from believing in who God is and trusting in His words. If He says He would do something. believe it, even if it doesn’t make sense or completely contradicts what you see or know. The Bible says in Numbers 23:19:

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

The Holy Spirit wants to help build your faith, but you must yield completely to Him.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please, strengthen my faith in You.

HYMN 18 – When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows
    And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
