TOPIC: Delay Is Not Denial [Open Heaven for Teens 24 December 2021]

MEMORISE: Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38

READ: John 2:1-5 (KJV)

  1. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
  2. And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
  3. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
  4. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
  5. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Zephaniah 1-3 , Revelation 15:1-8

MESSAGE:

When prayers are not answered speedily, it tends to bring discouragement to anyone and could make him quit. Have you been trusting God for something and now, you’ve become discouraged at the delayed answer? Have you started pursuing a course of study but it seems the parameters for study are difficult? The Lord will strengthen you to continue until you overcome in Jesus’ name. Don’t let the devil make you quit because there is light at the end of the tunnel. God loses interest in quitters that’s why those who commit suicide will not make heaven.

God usually gives any of these three answers in response to His children’s request- “Yes”. This is followed by moments of instant manifestation; “No”- There will be no sign that God heard because He knows that the answer to that prayer may become trouble in future. Wait, this is followed by a season of silence where God intends to groom you to a state where you can handle the answer when it comes. According to todays Bible reading, Jesus initially refused to help but when his mother persisted in her request, He eventually helped. My dear, continue to persist in prayer until your change comes. Never give up!

PRAYER POINT:

Father, help me to hold on to you till you answer all my prayers

HYMN: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Saviour divine!
    Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away;
    O let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine.
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire;
    As Thou hast died for me,
    O may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm, and changeless be,
    A living fire.
  3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold, sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll,
    Blest Saviour, then in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    O bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul.
