MESSAGE:

Congratulations! We have come to the end of another year and a new one begins tomorrow. It is very important to review the year, along with the resolutions you made at its beginning, if any. Did you get closer to God this year or farther? Did you achieve the goals you penned down? Did you acquire any skill this year? List the things you achieved and the things you failed at. Think deep on the reasons you didn’t achieve those goals you fell short on and consider ways to avoid failure this coming year. For instance, if you planned to learn a skill this year and you didn’t, you need to know why. Is it lack of funds or time? If it’s funds, you need to think of how to save towards it this year and if its time, you need to cut down on the time you spend on activities that do not add any value to your life. Knowing the problem would make you think of a solution.

Also, pen down the things you would like to achieve this coming year, including the means of achieving them. Most importantly, commit your ways into Gods hands. Let Him guide you. The Lord will prosper your ways in the new year, in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, be with me throughout this coming year, in the mighty name of Jesus.

HYMN: O God Our Help In Ages Past

  1. O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
    and our eternal home;
  2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
    Thy saints have dwelt secure.
    Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
    and our defence is sure.
  3. Before the hills in order stood,
    or earth received her frame,
    from everlasting Thou art God,
    to endless years the same.
  4. A thousand ages in Thy sight
    are like an evening gone,
short as the watch that ends the
    night
    before the rising sun.
  5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
    bears all its sons away.
They fly forgotten, as a dream
    dies at the opening day.
  6. O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
be Thou our guard while troubles last,
    and our eternal home.
