TOPIC: God Against Wickedness [Open Heaven for Teens 4 June 2022]

MEMORISE: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

READ: John 15:19

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: John 14:1-31, 2 Chronicles 13-16

MESSAGE:

I’m very selective of what news channel watch I or listen to because many just report news that show the level of wickedness that exists in our society today. When we were younger, people were not so bold as to perpetrate wicked acts in public. Now, people boldly kidnap, rape, harass and even kill. It saddens my heart as a mother that some peoples consciences are seared and there’s no regard for human lives.

When Cain killed his younger brother out of jealousy, God turned him into a fugitive; imagine the number of those God would have made fugitives today. Also, note that wickedness is not restricted to killing alone; it is any act that will bring pain to a fellow human being. In fact, the Bible sees sinners as wicked people and Isaiah 3:11 say,

“Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.”

God is against wickedness and He is not slack concerning His word. Some will get the consequences of their actions while alive while some will in eternity. Consider your ways today and repent if you are exhibiting wickedness in any area of your life so that Gods judgement will not come on you.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please replace any trace of wickedness in me with kindness, in Jesus name.

HYMN: When The Trumpet Of The Lord Shall Sound

  1. When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound
    and time shall be no more,
    And the morning breaks,
    eternal, bright and fair;
    When the saved of earth shall gather
    over on the other shore,
    And the roll is called up yonder,
    I’ll be there.

CHORUS
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
I’ll be there.

  1. On that bright and cloudless morning,
    when the dead in Christ shall rise,
    And the glory of his resurrection share;
    When his chosen ones shall gather
    To their home beyond the skies,
    And the roll is called up yonder,
    I’ll be there.
  2. Let us labour for the Master from
    the dawn till setting sun;
    Let us talk of all his wondrous
    love and care.
    Then, when all of life is over,
    and our work on earth is done,
    And the roll is called up yonder,
    I’ll be there.
