TOPIC: No Longer A Mistake (Open Heaven for Teens, 4 June 2026)
MEMORISE: No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

BIBLE READING: Romans 6:1-4
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
MESSAGE:
In the Bible, David was referred to as a man after God’s heart (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22). I believe it was because of his humility and heart of repentance. Whenever he sinned against God, he would become Sorrowful. Thereafter, he would repent and stay away from that sin. When a fellow keeps committing the same sin over and over again, it is no longer a mistake but a decision. Many young people are like that today; they keep making excuses for repeating the same mistakes. However, if a fellow resolves in his or her heart to not repeat a sinful act, avoids situations that will lead him or her into committing that act, and asks God for help, he or she would be free from the bondage of that sin.
My dear child, if you have sinned against God in one way or another, I implore you to go before Him today and ask Him for forgiveness. After receiving forgiveness from God, you must resolve to stay away from sin forever. l pray that the grace of God will empower you to stay away from sin, in Jesus’ name.
REFLECTION:
Do you find yourself committing a particular sin repeatedly? Go on your knees and ask God for the grace to overcome it.
