Memorise: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psalms 103:2

Read: Psalms 105:1-11

  1. O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
  2. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
  3. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
  4. Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
  5. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
  6. O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
  7. He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
  8. He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
  9. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
  10. And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
  11. Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 45-46; 2 Peter 3:1-18

MESSAGE:

Sometime between 1977 and 1978, a brother visited my family. During prayer time, he was thanking God for bringing an end to the civil war which happened about 10 years before that time. I learnt a great lesson from that.

As a teenager, I know you hardly forget the things that trended on social media in previous years, in fact, some of you dig up old social media posts to back up recent happenings, but you forget easily the things that God has done for you. God does not want us to forget the things that He did for us in the past. One of the reasons David was a man after God’s heart is because he knew how to thank God. Many years after he had become king, He told his wife, Saul’s daughter, that He was dancing to the God who took the throne from her father and gave it to him (2 Samuel 6:21-22 ). He didn’t forget that event. How will God not love a man like that? Are you already forgetting the great things that God did for you in the past? Or maybe you remember, but you don’t bother to thank God for them. Dust your book of records now and begin to thank God for the things He had been doing for you since the day you were born.

Action Point:

Begin to thank God for all the things He has done for you since the day you were born.

Hymn: To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Hath Done

  1. To God be the glory, great
    things He hath done,
    So loved He the world
    that He gave us His Son,
    Who yielded His life an
    atonement for sin,
    And opened the life gate
    that all may go in.

Chorus:
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father,
Through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory,
Great things He hath done.

  1. Oh, perfect redemption,
    the purchase of blood,
    To every believer the
    promise of God;
    The vilest offender who
    truly believes,
    That moment from Jesus a
    pardon receives.
  2. Great things He hath taught us,
    Great things He hath done,
    And great our rejoicing
    through Jesus the Son;
    But purer, and higher, and
    greater will be
    Our wonder, our transport,
    when Jesus we see.
