“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” –John 16:13

As a new student in a boarding school, it is expected that since it is your first experience, the activities such as staying in a hostel and mingling with people you are not familiar with, will feel different. In other to familiarise yourself with the place, you are handed over to a guardian who is more experienced and is able to not only guide your through, but protect you from other older students who may have their eyes set on you to bully you.

With that guardian’s help, popularly called a school mother or father in African settings, you are able to adjust properly, as tips and constant care is shown to you. In the same vein, the Holy Spirit is our master guardian. As long as we are in this earthly school, God has handed us over to Him so we can be properly tutored and helped throughout our stay on the earth.

His duty is not just to help you speak in and interpret tongues, though tongues is your “official language”; He also provides you comfort, helps you make right choices and fights every bully along your way to fulfilment of destiny. Without His help, you will be lost in the crowd and unable to handle the situations of life.

So, in case you have not accepted Him as your “School Father,” it’s wisdom to do that right away. He does not need a special ceremony to accept you, all He needs is your heart of repentance and desperation for His guidance, and He is there with you. Reach out your hands to the Holy Spirit today and ask sincerely that He be your Guardian. Your life is too precious to be tossed around; open up to Him today.

Remain Blessed!
