Nigerian’s have been told to be realistic in their high expectations of the new administration of President Mohammadu Buhari even as the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi says he is optimistic that the integrity of the President will lead to progress and prosperity for the nation.

Awoniyi while speaking on this year’s democracy day and on the occasion of change in baton at the centre, gave thanks to God for making the transition a reality, expressed joy that the prophecies that the country would cease to exist after the election has failed.

Awoniyi commended the statesmanship of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the way he handled the outcome of the election result and for introducing integrity in the voting process.

Awoniyi appealed for patience from Nigerians for the incoming administration, charged the new administration to strive to fulfill its campaign promises it made to the people noting that in view of the global recession and the realities, governance is certainly not going to be easy.

Posterity, Awoniyi disclosed will judge the administration of President Jonathan for good,  called on the new administration to put in place smart innovations and strategic thinking that can meet the peoples high expectations.

While noting that Governor Idris Wada represent the change the state needs since 2012, Awoniyi says he hopes and pray that God will open the eyes of citizens of the state to see the good works the present administration is doing.

Awoniyi described Capt Wada as a prudent manager of resources, said not until the drop of financial resources to states of the federation, the Capt Wada administration he noted has paid salaries as at when due, and has ensured a sustained infrastructural development of the state, appealed to people of the state to remain committed to the administration and the People’s Democratic Party in the state assured of progress and development for the state under the Capt Wada administration.
