Topic: Who controls you? [Friday 6 November, 2015]

“And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”2 Corinthians 6:15

Some people have the notion that walking the Christian path is the most difficult aspect of life. Little do they know that it is one of the easiest paths to follow. All you need is a dedicated life of obedience and disciple. Some have tried in other areas, but their wrong association makes every of their effort to live a godly life, abortive. Some lack the discipline to refrain from certain wrong habits, careless talk and indiscriminate dealings, because they cannot let go of the influence of their friends.

Some people find it difficult to live a Christian life outside the four walls of the church because the lifestyle of their weekly associates would not permit that. Some are even tempted to mock other Christians, just to feel secure with their so-called friendships. However, you must understand that the choice of association does not only affect what one becomes in the future, but should be determined by where you are heading. In essence, your vision, goal and target in life should determine your choice of friends.

Our walk with God is individualistic, and we all will give account of ourselves; every man for himself. Although you are required to show love to all, you are not expected to be intimate with everyone. Any friendship that will make you guilty and condemned before the judgement seat of God is not worth keeping.

Remember that your Christian journey is a race, and each receives his or her own prize. Therefore, today, consciously shed every weight of wrong friends aimed at reducing your speed with God and at the end, you will be thankful you did. You don’t have a spare life; you must live this one with maximum care and dedication. You will not fail!

Remain Blessed!
