Topic: A Better Result [Monday 9 November, 2015]

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”-Ecclesiastes 4:9

Over the years, I have developed a habit of reading something every day. Even if not much, there must be added knowledge for the day. In one of my researches, I came across this beautiful statement that forms a base for the food for thought for today. In summary, it says that every couple should see their spouse as partners and not opponents.

Unfortunately, some couples live like opponents. They allow unhealthy rivalries, thereby hampering the peace and love that should exist in the family. You compete and try to outsmart your opponents, but you will derive more profits if you walk closely with your partner. As couples, you are to work together in all things, not minding whose exact responsibility it might be. When you have the mindset of partnership, there will be no lapses in the home.

The reason why people go through the stress they encounter in their homes is because they either have not learnt and accepted their responsibilities, or have not learnt to work as a team. Your spouse is not against you; in fact, you are both working together to derive a more fulfilling future for yourselves. Contrary to what you may think, he or she wants your progress, just as much as you do. So, other than working against him or her, work for each other and you would achieve more.

Marriage provides a cheaper way for you to gain more than you would have gotten alone. You must take advantage of the blessings in it. Therefore, if you ever feel your spouse is against you, why not try to find out his or her pending projects or goals and try to help him or her achieve them. When you do, you realise that you have automatically achieved yours, because two positive minds put together bring great results. You shall not fail in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
