Topic: Kick against this! [Monday 19 October, 2015]

“For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.”-Romans 2:24

From experience, I have come to realise that the reason people make mistakes or take hasty decisions, is because they fail to sit and think things through before they act. There is something that “thinking through” does; it gives you a clearer picture of the situation at hand, helps you weigh your pros and cons, and gives you the chance to make better choices.

In marriage, every decision or action must be properly thought through, before carried out. You are not only living for God and yourself but also for your partner, family and those watching you, especially unbelievers. You must understand that when a Christian marriage fails, it gives unbelievers a chance to blaspheme the name of the Lord. That is why you must guard that marriage jealously.

Some issues can be avoidable, forgivable and ignored, if you must live peacefully. When your neighbours hear you often quarreling over little issues, you create doubts in their hearts. Whether you know it or not, people have placed you as a standard for themselves. They might not show it, but they secretly use you to judge themselves because you are a believer. If your marriage then does not show what they are watching out for, your faith becomes a mockery to them, and they might begin to doubt God, because of you.

Every Christian must show the right example to others, and this begins from the family. This is because if you want to know the true test of one’s character, it’s often gotten from the family. You must be responsible to every need of your family and meet them peacefully and in love. Christian families are supposed to be light to others, yours must not be otherwise. Receive grace to be a positive influence to other marriages in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
