Topic: Communication is everything [Monday 28 September, 2015]

“Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.”-Proverbs 13:15

Do you know that communication is one of the most vital aspects in marriage? It involves more than just passing across a feeling, thought, message or desire, to ensure that it all is passed across at the “right time.” In fact, good communication is the fuel that keeps the marriage vehicle running.

In marriage, the word “communication” can be shortened to “communion,” which means sharing. What are you sharing? You may ask. You are sharing profitable ideas, loving words of encouragement, feelings (deep, included), and care; at right times. Communication is not just about what you say, but what you do also. Truth is: Your actions are what give credit to your words.

Communication is a major component that makes oneness in marriage derivable. The better you communicate, the closer you become. My husband once said that “poor communication is the reason behind brutality in marriage.” This is very true because where there is no communication, people device evil imaginations which in the long run will materialise in action.

Couples must learn the act of good communication, if their marriage must be successful. You must learn to be sincere and open; talk about everything without fear and also learn to listen while you communicate. If you are upset with your spouse for instance, then you must learn to say it as quickly as possible, yet as softly as possible. There must never be a day without positive and adequate communication, because it is what keeps your marriage going. You will not be found wanting in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
