Topic: Meeting your needs [Saturday May 16, 2015]

“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” –Proverbs 17:17

Every woman needs to understand her Biblical role of meeting the needs of her husband, just as the man also needs to fully comprehend and act his role. Some people have left their major duties unattended to, and have been concerned about issues that don’t make for peace and progress in the home. They have stopped being of help to themselves, and have resulted to being contributors to their own downfalls. This ought not to be so.

In marriage, you should be assets and friends to one another; a blessing and not a thorn in the flesh. You should be able to turn to each other for support, comfort and advice. You are to make life most comfortable and soothing for each other, such that there will be a visible, positive difference between when you were single and now that you’re married.

When people start making statements like “he was a good man before he got married to her,” then there is a problem. Also, when you hear statements like “…and this woman was fine when she was single,” then her husband is not doing his part. Couples should prayerfully and through their conduct, help each other through life. You become a mirror to/for your spouse, showing him or her areas of strength, possible improvements, and impending danger, even without words. You are responsible to helping them attain the height God has prepared for them.

Show your spouse that you love and respect him or her, and that your desire is for him or her to be the best; looking out for areas you know they need your assistance. Render your help with a willing and pure heart, void of negative intentions. When you do this, you will find your love for each other waxing stronger by the day. You are special, most especially to yourselves, so assume that position today!

Remain Blessed!
