“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”2 Timothy 3:15

In today’s world, we find children of Christians, who are supposed to be light to others, departing from the faith. They engage in all sorts of despicable activities, thereby bringing mockery to the faith. Surprisingly, some of these children have ministers and church leaders as their parents and guardians, but the Word of God being preached by their parents is not reflected in them.

For many of such children, attending church services and Christian gatherings were just mere religious obligations; they never really understood the importance of what they did. There was no personal conviction to seek the God of their fathers, which was one primary lesson their parents should have driven home.

Child training is not just in words, but making your children understand on their level, the importance of living their lives for Christ. You should make them understand that Christianity is not a religion, but a way of life. It is who they are and not necessarily what they say. Make your children understand what it means to be born again, why they ought to be born again and it’s benefit to them.

Do not leave your children to speculate what the Christian faith is, or think they would come to understand salvation over time when they keep attending services. It is your duty to lead them to Christ and see them firmly rooted in the faith. If you, as a Christian, can go about saving other people’s children when yours are unsaved, you will not be spared. So, you must ensure that your children are brought up in the way of the Lord, and that this is done in love and understanding so they would not depart from the faith. Your children will not be a source of shame to you in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
