Topic: The Written Epistle [Thursday 29 October, 2015]

“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:”-2 Corinthians 3:2

Whether we know it or not, hardly a day passes without us reading something. It might be an inscription on a wall, billboard, a book or an online post. Some of the things we read make meaning to us and others don’t. Some, we read for pleasure, information, education, entertainment, etc.; but do you know you are also being read?

I know you are stunned. Your next question would be, but I am not a book! You might not be a physical book, but you are an epistle for others to draw lessons from and to make comparison with. Your life, especially as a Christian provides a guideline on how to live and if you are careless with your life, you would be providing a negative example for others.

The question you must ask yourself daily is, what kind of epistle am I? What do people read of me when they come in contact with me? Am I being a positive impact or am I creating the wrong impression of Christianity? The truth is: The impression you imprint in the minds of others is very important and it goes a long way to determine if they accept Jesus through you or not.

Evidently, every step you take, every word you speak and everything you do is being read and stored in the memory bank of someone else. That person is not stalking you, but trying to get a footing for him/herself. Therefore, from today, erase every negative epistle you have consciously or unconsciously written of you, and replace them with godly ones. Remember, life is not complete until you have been a positive influence to someone else.

Remain Blessed!
