Topic: Consistency in Calling [Wednesday August 19, 2015]
“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;”-Hebrews 3:14
There is the story of a certain pastor, who today we’d call Wale. Pastor Wale had a growing ministry he was passionate about; but it was really not as financially buoyant as his other colleagues who started ministry the same time as he did. Although, one unique thing about his ministry was that God always worked diverse miracles, deliverances and healings through him in all his meetings. However, he wanted more.
On a particular day, he invited a friend to minister and that friend lured him into preaching prosperity messages. Note that the message he preached in itself was not wrong; but that was not the message he was sent to preach from God. The latter end of pastor Wale’s ministry was pitiable because he deviated from the assignment given to him by God and so, lost God’s backing. While it is not wrong to learn from others who are or have gone ahead of you, it is very important you stick to your calling.
There is a path for each person. The army of God is an army of specialists who have received their visions with precision; not crossing into others’ lanes. Having received a directive from God on your ministry, stick to it! Though the road may have its challenges and others might seem to be doing better than you for a period, remember that your profiting will be seen and accepted by all if only you remain consistent.
No vision gets fulfilled automatically; so work to fulfill yours without minding the seemingly greater progress of others. Your consistency involves that you get a clear directive before you begin and map out a plan as given by God on how to execute and remain in it at all times. Press on and you will receive the prize. God will always reward the consistent and therefore, may He find you faithful.
Remain Blessed!
