For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. Matthew 23:2-4. Read: Matt 7:21-27
Recently my teacher told me a story of a preacher who was preaching in a moving commercial bus, he found out that all the preacher was saying to his hearers was good but he himself doesn’t or has never practiced any of them. He was preaching to save others, while he wasnt saved. It’s not just enough to preach beautiful sermons to save others and at the end one misses it, much more than that is preaching to save others at the expense of your Salvation is for you to be saved. Don’t call others into God’s Kingdom and you miss it. It can be very disheartening. As you care for others to be saved, you must care for yourself too.
Paul said, Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Rom 2:21-22. Paul also said, But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Cor 9:27
