23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Bible In One Year: 1 Samuel 27-29; Luke 17:1-19

MESSAGE:

In our Bible reading for today, we see how a group of 42 children lost their lives because they were mocking a man of God. Sadly, many children and teenagers these days are doing the same thing. Though they are not saying to the face of the men of God, they go online to mock them. They call them all sorts of names and insult them on social media. They are playing with fire.

You may not like a man of God or agree with some of his philosophies or action, but it is not your business to put him in check. You are not his employer, so who gave you the right to issue him queries? It is best for you to keep quiet when you ha e something against a man of God? King Saul had became mad and was trying to kill David, yet David did nothing because he recognised the power of the anointing on him. Even if a man of God has gone on the wrong path, it is not your place to punish him; leave that to God and keep praying about it. Many children are placing curses on their heads for every insult they rain on .en of God on social media. Don’t be part of them.

Key Point:

Instead of criticising men of God, why don’t you pray for them?

Hymn 3:

1.When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2.Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3.Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5.Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
