OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help us to love righteousness and hate iniquity.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask members what they understood from the last topic.

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 19:17-26 (KJV)
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: The story of Lot is quite incredible one. The Bible says he left with Abraham when God called him (Abraham) out of his country. Lot later separated from his uncle (Abraham) and went to live in Sodom and Gomorrah with his wife and his two daughters. Sodom and Gomorrah sinned against God and God decided to wipe of the entire city from the surface of the earth. As God did not spare this country, He will not do otherwise to the generation according to Jesus Christ in Matthew 10:15 “Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.”

LESSON AIM: Teach members reasons why God destroyed nations in the past.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to
i. Know why God destroyed nations in the past.
ii. Know why and how He create escape route for His elect or children.
TEXT REVIEW: GENESIS 19:17-26
i. Lot and his family escape the punishment of Sodom and Gomorrah.
ii. Lot’s wife looked back and turned to a pillar of salt.
TEACHING METHOD: Use interactive/discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINE
GOD HAD DESTROYED GENERATION OR COUNTRY BEFORE
- Noah’s generation was destroyed. Genesis 6:7-13.
In this generation, they began to disobey all the laid down instructions of God. Jesus mentioned this during His ministry on earth Matthew 24:37-39. - Sodom and Gomorrah was also destroyed. 2 Peter 2:6. As we have seen in the introduction above, no country will escape the full wrath of God.
ANY ESCAPE ROUTE?
- There is always a way out of sin from God. 2 Chronicles 7:14. God expects everyone to repent from their evil ways. And embrace the remedy put in place by him (God). And Jesus is this remedy to this perverse generation. John 3:17-18.
ACTIVITY: Why did lot wife look back?
SUMMARY: As believers we should be obedient to God’s instructions, So that we don’t end up our life like lot’s wife.
CONCLUSION: Sodom and Gomorrah did not escape God’s punishment for sin. It will not be otherwise for this generation.

- Father, thank you for the salvation of my soul.
- Father, please do not allow me to perish with this generation, In Jesus mighty name.
- Father, please strengthen Daddy G.O to finish strong in Jesus mighty name.
