MESSAGE:

Calling yourself a Christian teenager comes with great responsibility. This is because you have become an example for other teenagers to follow. They use you as a standard for how Christian teenagers should conduct themselves. Hence, you should not be the one that is found cheating in the exam hall. You should not be the one that is found alone in a dark place with a member of the opposite sex or even a member of the same sex too. You should not be the one found being rude to a teacher or anyone at that. You are a representative of Jesus Christ and you should behave as one.

“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. – Matthew 18:6”

Do you know that every time you misrepresent Christ, you could be making someone who is looking up to you fall into sin? Many people are not born again today because someone who claimed to be born again misrepresented Christ. The blood of such people will be on the neck of the one who misrepresented Christ. 2 Timothy 2:19 says let those who name the name of Christ depart from iniquity. If you will be identified with Christ, depart from iniquity and stop misrepresenting Him.

Key Point:

You are the Bible that the unbelievers read, your behaviour is seen as the standard. Don’t give them the wrong standard.

Hymn: Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus

  1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    Ye soldiers of the cross;
    Lift high His royal banner,
    It must not suffer loss:
    From victory unto victory,
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    The trumpet call obey:
    Forth to the mighty conflict,
    In this His glorious day;
    Ye that are men now serveHim
    Against unnumbered foes;
    Let courage rise with danger,
    And strength to strength oppose.
  3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    Stand in His strength alone,
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own;
    Put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer,
    When duty calls or danger,
    Be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
    This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song;
    To him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    Shall reign eternally.
