MESSAGE:

When you study the Bible, you will find out that diligence and hard work are very important to God. Diligence is careful and persistent work that is done at the right time. You have to be diligent in everything you do. God doesn’t like laziness. He cannot tolerate laziness at all because He is not a lazy God. In Genesis chapter 1, we see how God worked tirelessly for six days in creating the universe. And up till now, He still works. The Bible says He never sleeps nor slumber.

God appreciates diligence and has a way of rewarding diligent fellows. When you are diligent in your school work, God will bless you with outstanding success. If you are diligent with whichever task you are given, or any skill you have acquired, God will connect you to great people (Proverbs 22:29). When you are diligent with the food you eat, God will bless you with good health. If you are diligent in the use of time, you will| not lose out on great opportunities. If you are diligent in your walk with God, He also will diligently take care of you and all that’s yours. On the other hand, laziness does not bring any reward, instead it attracts poverty (Proverbs 10:4) and disgrace (Proverbs 10:5).

Key Point:

Only the diligent will get the rewards of diligence.

Hymn: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

  1. There shall be showers of blessing:
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

  1. There shall be showers of blessing-
    Precious reviving again;
    Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.
  2. There shall be showers of blessing;
    Send them upon us, O Lord!
    Grant to us now a refreshing;
    Come, and now honor Thy Word.
  3. There shall be showers of blessing;
    O that today they might fall,
    Now as to God we’re confessing,
    Now as on Jesus we call!
  4. There shall be showers of blessing,
    If we but trust and obey;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    If we let God have His way.
