#RiversRerun: See photos from gunfight between Dakuku Peterside and Gov Wike’s Chief of Staff

There are several reports about a gunfire between security details of NIMASA DG, Dakuku Peterside and the Chief of Staff of the Rivers state government, Emeka Woke.

It was reported that the exchange lasted for over 30 minutes. Mr. Emeka was shot and eventually died.

Both sides however have different things to say about the incident.

A Press Statement from the Rivers state government claims Peterside snatched the result from a polling unit and fled with it. Emeka reportedly gave chase, was shot and eventually died thereafter. The government also said Peterside will be prosecuted for murder.

However, an aide to the NIMASA DG said Wike’s men wanted to assassinate Dakuku Peterside. He also gave details about the incident.
