TOPIC: Called Unto Priesthood (Seeds Of Destiny 4 April 2026)
SCRIPTURE: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 1 Peter 2:9.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every child of God has a duty to minister to the Lord.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that we have a calling not just unto kingship but also unto priesthood. Revelation 5:10 corroborates this: And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
In our study today, we shall explore the duty of priests and qualifications for priesthood.
Now, if we have the assignment of a priest, what is our duty or job description?
- To bear the ark of the covenant (Deuteronomy 10:8).
The priest has a duty of carrying the Presence of God. The priest is a Divine Presence carrier. So, as a child of God, you are to be a carrier of the Presence of God. That is, people should feel God as they come around you.
Beloved, your duty as a priest is not complete until someone feels God when they come around you. The ark of the covenant is the symbol of the Presence of God.
- To stand before the Lord to minister to Him (Acts 13:1-2). Every child of God has a duty to minister to the Lord. For some of us who are pastors, you have no right to minister to the people if you are not ministering to God. Ministering to the Lord is bringing pleasure to God by offering the sacrifices of worship and praise and encountering God in the climate of communion.
- To stand in the gap of intercession for the people (Job 42:10). Many times, we pray for ourselves, and that is good, but once in a while, let us do what Job did (Job 42:10).
Now, what are the requirements or qualifications for priesthood?
- Being separated unto God (Numbers 8:14). You must be separated from your unbelieving friends, colleagues, and family members. Something must be different about you. You must be separated from sin, separated from certain lifestyles, and associations. There are people that you cannot call friends; you know them, you are not angry with them, but you don’t fraternize with them.
- Living in the Presence of God at the place of prayer (Deuteronomy 10:8).
- Being addicted to the Word of God. To be a carrier of the Presence of God, you must be addicted to His Word.
Malachi 2:7 says, For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
Beloved, no day should pass without a Scripture entering your spirit. No day is permitted to pass without meditating on the Word.
REMEMBER THIS: Every child of God has a duty to minister to the Lord.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Always remember that you have been called unto priesthood; you should be separated unto God.
- Give yourself to consistent study of the Word and prayer.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for calling me unto priesthood. Help me to be consecrated unto You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
