A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Set That Bridge Ablaze

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

When a man confess Christ as Lord and personal Saviour, the first thing that happen to such person is that, conviction of sin take place. This is when you see a man weep before God pleading for mercy and forgiveness. Because of the divine surgery performed by God in that man’s heart, he suddenly realized many wrong things in his/her life. It takes a fleshy heart to show genuine love.
Another thing the Holy Spirit does in the person’s life is to begin to show him/her things that can hibernate spiritual growth rapidly and the reasons why such things should be done away with. In this aspect, some children of God reject and try to suppress God’s Spirit because they consider some places in their lives as a ‘No Go Area’.  And this is some of the things that dent a child of God and make unbelievers to say, “If he/she is a Christian, then, I will rather go to hell”. SOS 2:15 says …little foxes that spoil the vine.

Whatever traits that is still prevalent in your life must be set ablaze through surrendering them to God. When God choose Elisha through Elijah, quickly, he set ablaze those things that could have made him looked back, the bridges. 1 Kings 19:19-21. Those bridges you need to set ablaze today could be, bad habit, corrupt conversation, backbiting, falsehood, lies and stealing etc.

* As you present those bad bridges unto God today, He will consume them by fire in Jesus name.
