Topic: Supremacy of God’s Finger [Open Heavens for Teens 11 June 2019]

Memorise: “For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.” – Psalms 18:39

Read: Exodus 8:18-19

  1. And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.
  2. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

Bible In One Year: 2 Chronicles 34-36, John 19:1-22

MESSAGE:

The finger of God can write upon tablets of stone, a man and a man’s heart. Besides these, another significance of the finger of God is that it speaks of the enemy’s limitations in relation to God’s supremacy. In Exodus 8, the magicians of Pharaoh were able to replicate all the plague God gave as sign that He was he One that sent Moses. They replicated all but one; Moses was asked by God to strike the ground with his rod, he did so and the sand suddenly began to move, all turned to lice! The magicians tried to replicate this but could not and they concluded that this was the finger of God.

Today, in many places, fake prophets and their likes trying to copy the miracles that God is doing. Satan never performs miracles but magic. There is a huge difference between the two; miracles are supernatural occurrences that take place by the finger of God, while magic are supernatural occurrences that are enabled by spirits other than the Holy Spirit. The finger of God tell the enemy in very clear terms that God is at work and what he can do, no other spirit, force or power can. Today, I want you to ask God to put to use His finger in your life. Ask Him to do in your life what no other person can do!

Key Point:
The working of God’s finger is all you need to turn your life around.

Hymn 1:

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Savior divine!
    Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away,
    Oh, let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine!
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire!
    As Thou hast died for me,
    Oh, may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm and changeless be,
    A living fire!
  3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll;
    Blest Savior, then, in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    Oh, bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul.
