Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Learning Obedience [Teens Open Heavens 19, July 2018]

Memorise: Elect according to the fore knowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, and be multiplied.1 Peter 1:2

Read: Ephesians 6:1-3 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Psalm 28-30, Acts 21:1-14

MESSAGE:

Before God can use the stubborn ones, He would have to break them. If you are proud, God cannot use you unless you are broken. Believers who have not enrolled in God’s school of brokenness will constitute a problem both to God and His church. Pride will simply always hold you back from total obedience. Let go of pride.

God wants you to be perfect because you earn God’s commendation (“I am pleased with you”), your obedience has to be complete. For your obedience to be complete, you must totally submit to God’s will in everything; how you live daily, what you say, do and think. To what extent is your obedience?

Action Point: Pray for fresh release of the Spirit of obedience.

Hymn 2:

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
