Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Saint or Sinner [Teens Open Heavens 3, July 2018]

Memorise: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh.) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. Romans 7:18

Read: Romans 7:18-25 (KJV)

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Bible In One Year: Job 26-28, Acts 11

MESSAGE:

Not everyone who appears to rejoice with you over an accomplishment or promotion is sincere. In fact, many people mean the exact opposite of their good wishes. It is only in the Kingdom of God that you can have those who will genuinely rejoice with you. If you claim you belong to God’s Kingdom and still find it difficult to rejoice at the rise or elevation of others, the law of sin is still very strong in your life.

A genuine child of God will sincerely rejoice with those that rejoice, and sincerely mourn with those that mourn. If you know that doing this doesn’t come easy to you, you have to start praying earnestly for God to arrest your heart and make it broken and tender.

Action Point: Pray that every devourer pretending to be a friend of your family should be exposed.

Hymn 13:

1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation
To those who are dying in sin?

4. We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
