A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: The Kingdom Of God Is Like This [16/09/2016]

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; that which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Matthew 13:44. Read: Matt 13:44-46

In the Scriptures, for better understanding of God’s Kingdom, Jesus uses symbolic expression to narrate how it is. The above parable tells us how important the kingdom of heaven is and should be to us-wards. First, Jesus likened God’s Kingdom to a treasure hidden in a field. This means, the world in which we live is a field, Jesus (heavenly treasure) is in it. When something or someone is a treasure to you, you would do everything to cherish, care, protect, love and keep the person or thing. And if you mistakenly misplace it, you go everywhere searching for it. SS 3:1-5. Second, treasure is worth keeping. When you find Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour through Salvation, He must be cherished for life because He is the key to God’s Kingdom. You must do everything to protect Him till the end.

Thirdly, Any distraction to loose that treasure is not allowed. In the above parable, for the sake of keeping the treasure found, he sold everything and bought everything that could help him retain the treasure. You too when you’ve found Jesus, whatsoever would cause you to loose Him must be done away with and if you’ve not found Him yet, you must do all within your power to locate Him now. Your love for father, mother, wife/husband, children and this passing world must not be allowed to cause you heaven, they don’t worth losing heaven for.

Heaven is more than important to miss, while hell is less important to make.
