Topic: God Honours Your Giving [TREM Devotional 28 February 2019]

“And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:” Genesis 4:4 KJV

God always respects offering! God respects giving. God is not against giving or tithing! He is not against the things we do to honour Him. He is not against doing well. He is not against doing things very well. Some people are thinking because God has blessed us, therefore we don’t need to do anything. It is not like that.

In Genesis 1:28, the Bible says: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful…”. Your part is to be. Your part is to do something concerning what He has said because He has blessed you. So don’t believe all these things going on in the social media. They are not true. Don’t believe anyone that tells you not to give or tithe. It is a lie from the pit of hell.

You see, there are things that God has done for us by His grace. Salvation is by grace! Righteousness is by grace! Righteousness is a gift that He gave to us. The Holy Spirit is a gift. But now that you have received the gifts, there are things you do. There is a corresponding action that takes place because I have it. That is why the Bible teaches reward. There is a reward in giving. That is why the Bible encourages us not to become tired of giving: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9 KJV)

Paul the great apostle of Grace taught that he that “soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6 KJV). Jesus Himself said: “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom…”(Luke 6:38 KJV). Every good thing we do has a reward. Don’t withhold your seed. It honours God. And God will reward you.
