Topic: Understanding The Love Of God [TREM’s Daily Saturday March 24, 2018]

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

You see, there are truths people like Paul knew that made them stand no matter the adversity. Don’t forget that Paul, before he became Paul was Saul. He fought the church. He was a murderer; but when he got hold on the love of God, his life changed. Paul became a winner anywhere he went. When you put him in the storm he knew he’s coming out. Why? Because he understood the love of God.

Put Paul in any challenge, he knew it is a matter of time. Why? He says “while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things, which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). Attack him in different ways, he says to you “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Whatever the enemy brings to your life is a light affliction. It is just for a moment, it will not last forever. Many of us don’t understand the love of God. God’s love has done something for us. It has broken the yoke of darkness! That was why Paul, in the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 13:8, said Love never fails.

John the beloved, the one that usually leaned on the bosom of Jesus, understood love and that’s why they called him the Apostle of love. He said; do you want to know what love is? Let me tell you what love is: God loves you; not that you loved Him. You didn’t love Him, He loved! And to show you that He loved you, He gave His Son for you. John said that is love. When you understand it, you will love God. No one will beg you to love Him. Hallelujah!
