TOPIC: Don’t Become Indifferent (TREM Devotional 15 January 2024)
“The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.” Hosea 13:13 (KJV)
Wisdom For The Day MESSAGE:
The Message translation of our scripture for today says, “When birth pangs signaled it was time to be born, Ephraim was too stupid to come out of the womb. When the passage into life opened up, he didn’t show.” Hosea 13:13 (MSG)
When that pain stings, it is an indication that you have stepped into another season. You are about to birth something. According to the scriptures: “…. the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18 (KJV). The pains, challenges, difficulties, pressures, and anxiety we encounter now cannot be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us. So, the pains you are encountering are indications that glory is about to explode in your life.

But you must choose never to be like Ephraim! He did not show up when the passage to life opened. In other words, he was too indifferent, lukewarm, and nonchalant. He was taking everything for granted. The zeal is no longer there. The intensity is no longer there! This is the position of many church folks. They have made serving God a ritual and just a religious exercise. Where is the passion? Where is the fire? Where is the intensity that you used to have?
If you lose focus so easily because of the challenges in your life, it is an indication that you are listening to the wrong voices. Who are you listening to? Whatever you are doing is a product of your thoughts, and your thoughts are products of who you are listening to. Who is speaking into your life? Are you indifferent to the Word of God? You can never maximize God’s plan for your life if you become insensitive and indifferent.
Peter began to sink the moment his attention was distracted. Some believers are sinking because they are looking in the wrong direction. Another voice is speaking to them. Child of God, stay on course. Glory is about to explode in your life.
