TOPIC: Stop Robbing Yourself (TREM Devotional 5 March 2026)

“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.” – Matthew 25:10–12 (KJV)

MESSAGE

Beloved, when you fail to develop and deploy what God has invested in you, you are not cheating anyone but yourself. You rob yourself of blessings when you treat preparation lightly. The scripture makes it clear that only those who were ready went in with the Bridegroom. Readiness is not accidental, it is intentional. Are you prepared?

The ten virgins were given the same opportunity, but only the wise took responsibility for their preparation. The foolish ignored it and suffered the consequences. The wise said to them, “Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.” – Matthew 25:9 (KJV).

Beloved, be like the wise. Do not let emotions or misplaced compassion stop you from doing what is right. There are moments when you must lovingly say “no.” That does not make you unkind, it makes you wise.

You are not El Shaddai. You cannot carry everyone’s load or give away what sustains your own flame. Some things in life cannot be borrowed or transferred; salvation, spiritual growth, and personal readiness are individual responsibilities.

The foolish virgins had every chance to prepare, but they delayed. They failed to take responsibility for what was required of them, and when the moment came, it was too late. While they ran off to get oil, the Bridegroom arrived. The ready ones went in, and the door was shut. When the others returned, crying, “Lord, Lord, open to us,” they were met with a chilling response: “Verily I say unto you, I know you not.”

What a sobering reality! Grace provides opportunities, but only diligence keeps you within them. The time to prepare is now. Don’t postpone obedience. Don’t wait until it’s convenient.

Beloved, stay ready. Keep your lamp burning. Keep your oil full. When your moment comes, may you be among those who go in with the Bridegroom, and not among those left outside.

You will not miss your opportunity!
