“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” – 1 John 4:17 (KJV)

Beloved, as long as you are a believer, you have received the Spirit of Christ. The book of Galatians 4:6 says: “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba Father” (KJV). Therefore, as the very Spirit of Christ dwells in you, you share identity with Christ as a believer.

So, the question is, “Who is Christ?” He is the anointed One. He is the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. Throughout the synoptic gospels, we read of all the miracles that He wrought and how He healed the multitudes of their infirmities and diseases. Even when the religious leaders of the day tried to ensnare Him, He exhibited superior wisdom. Beloved, Jesus was and remains undefeated. The Bible makes us understand in our text that as He is, so are we in this world. So, if Jesus cannot be defeated, you also cannot be defeated.

Child of God, you are seated in the heavenly places in Christ, at the right hand of the Father, far above principalities, powers, dominions, and thrones. It is not in the character of your shared identity in Christ to be subject to any situation or circumstance. One of the old tricks of the devil is to make you doubt your identity in Christ. Child of God, for as long as you know who you are in Christ, the devil will not be able to put you in panic mode.

When you know your identity and walk in the consciousness of that identity, you will achieve more for yourself and the Kingdom. You will no longer be a pushover for the devil. Knowing who you are in Christ also means knowing what Jesus purchased on your behalf, why He died and the benefits of His death burial and resurrection. When you know these, then you can access your full potential in Him.
