Topic: The Churches: Philadelphia [21/3/2016]
Text: Revelation 3:7-13
Scriptures made us understand the Lord wants to present a church to God that is without spot nor wrinkle, a church that is true, pure, full of virtue (Ephesians 5:27). A church that hold fast to His Words, and rely on Him for all that she does (2 Cor. 3:5). A church, who despite its limitations, is able to withstand Satan’s onslaught and not yield to the pressure of the world (James 4:7).
The church in Philadelphia is a model church of what the Lord is expecting from each and every congregation in the body of Christ. The Word of God was alive in them, they were guided by God’s Word and held fast to His name (Revelation 3:8). Because of this, the Lord promised to keep them safe from the hour of temptation. And make sure they lacked nothing. He set before them an open door of all round success, progress, flourishing, etc (Revelation 3:8-10).
Of course we still have this kind of congregation today, but in snippet. But we can make the body of Christ this vibrant and true. And to do that, we must give place to the teaching of the truth of God’s Word. For it is the pathway to the life of God in its fullness. God’s Word must take preeminent and only it’s truth should be taught in our congregations.
Let’s give God’s Word the place it deserves for us to keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for Your Word that is life, which is the light of men. I pray that it’s truth permeate every congregation of the the body of Christ, making each congregation the model church You desire to see, in Jesus name. Amen.
