Topic: Covenant Packages: Power [5/4/2016]
Text: John 1:12
The only One who had the power to be called the Son of God was Jesus. Although He Himself earn that, when He decided to come die for man and established a new covenant. But as many as received Him to them He gave power (Greek, exousia, meaning authority and privileged right), to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name (John 1:12). So the new covenant brought to us, who believe, the authority, right (legal) for us to be called God’s sons. So we have the right to have all that God has, because He has given it to us.
But God did not stop there. He does not just want us to have authority or right to be His sons, He wants us to wield the power that He wields. Jesus told the first set sons in Luke 24:49, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Power here, which is dunamis in Greek, means miracle working ability. This is the same of power that created the world. It is the same power that raised up Jesus from the grave. It is this same power that we have been endued with. Hallelujah!
Maybe before now you don’t know you had this kind of power, well now you know, for as long as you have been baptized of the Holy God, this power resides in you. Acts 1:8 says “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon thee…” Maybe you have not received the Holy Ghost, you can do that right here and right now. With faith in your heart, just ask Him to come dwell in you. And He will surely come, because the new covenant have ensured that. Glory to God.

Dear Father, thank You for giving me the authority and right to be called Your son/daughter, and also thank You for Your miracle performing power You have given to me through the Holy Spirit. I walk in the consciousness of my sonship and power always, in Jesus name. Amen.
