Topic: Covenant Packages: Right Standing [4/4/2016]
Text: 2 Corinthians 5:21
The new covenant did an amazing thing. It brought us up to the pedestal of God, that in all levels we should be just as He is even in this world (1 John 4:17). Before Jesus came to establish the new covenant, no man had a right standing with God, because even at their best of righteous display, they were still filthy and unclean before God (Isaiah 64:6).
But Christ came to change all that, taking up our filths and sins, and giving us His right to stand in the presence God. So now, we can now stand or come to God without fear because His righteousness has been given to us, a right to stand before God, not because of what we have done or will do, but because of what Christ has done, providing His blood for our cleansing, once and for all times (Hebrews 10:10-12).
In Exodus 19:1-17, God told the children of Israel not to come near Mount Sinai because He will be appearing there, even after they were purified by the priest. They were in their best of purified state, but still they could not come near God. But not so for us, for in our best and also in our worst, we can stand before God, because we are not filthy in His eyes, for He has given us of His own righteousness, which makes us as righteous as He is (2 Cor. 5:21) Hallelujah!

Dear Father, thank You for giving me Your righteousness which ensured I have a right standing with You. Thank You also for Your righteousness ensures I live right always. Be praised forevermore, in Jesus name. Amen.
