Topic: Made to Be Different [4/8/2016]
Text: James 1:18
Not only are we made to make a difference in the world, we are also made to be different. In comparison with the world, there should be a marked difference. Difference in our thought pattern, the way we talk and and the way we act. We are sons and daughters of the Most High. We are not expected to think, talk and act like someone without a pedigree. Scriptures say in Philippians 3:20 “for our conversation is in heaven…” Everything about us originate from heaven and not from this world.
When a believer and an unbeliever are talking on the same issue, there should be a distinction. The words of the believer should reflect his kingly status. He should not portray the anything else. You cannot talk fear when the world is talking fear. You can’t talk someone down when the world is doing that. You should talk faith and confidence. Your words should uplift your hearers and give then hope and confidence. Instead of defeat, think and talk victory because you are more than conquerors. Glory to God!
James 1:18 says: “of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” We are a special kind of people – alien to the ways and thought pattern of the world. And guess what, because of the higher thought and actions that emanate from us, success is guaranteed. You are made different from the world. You have the DNA of God and you are programmed for the higher life. Let your difference be evident every time and everywhere.

Prayer:
I am made to be different. I am a special kind of God’s creature, made to live the higher life in Christ Jesus. My thoughts, talk and actions are in consonance with my kingly status. They are higher than ordinary and effective, producing success for me every time and everywhere, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
