Topic: The Minister’s Ministry 4 [Thursday, 6th July 2017]
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry. 1 Timothy 1:12
It must be stated clearly that the minister’s ministry is the business of His Father. And as a son, the Father has given the minister the ministry to manage on His behalf, making available at the disposal of the minister all the apparatus he needs to be effective in the business – the ministry (1 Timothy 1:12). The business is not only to manage – build, train and send – the flock at his disposal, but also to increase the personnel of the flock, acquiring new territories and expanding the reach of the business.
In John 17:20, Jesus said: “neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.” Jesus knew that the business of the Father would spread through His sons and daughters – ministers – He has called, chosen, enabled and entrusted with His business. The business goals are simple: don’t lose anyone entrusted into your hands (John 10:28-29), equip and build them (Ephesians 4:12-13), increase the flock (John 10:16). These goals must be carried out with all zeal and zest that are unwavering by the minister. And by minister, I mean all that are sons and daughters of the Father.
Slothfulness must be shunned, but with great enthusiasm, fervency and urgency the goals of the business of the Father must be pursued (Romans 12:11). Every resources the Father has made available must be put to use as the minister keep, feed, send and populate the flock of the Father. It must be said that one the highest goals of the minister must be to show the flock the path of life that the Lord has chosen for them, where they can discover the purpose – ministry – of the Father which He has called them to work and walk in. Send the flock.

Dear Father, thank You for counting me worthy to partake in the ministry. Help me, by the working of Your Spirit, to meet the ministry goals of keeping, equipping, sending and populating Your flock, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
