Topic: The Woman and Her Home (1)

Dear Reader,

Welcome to this great month. Do you know as a woman, you are special in God’s eyes? You are wonderfully and fearfully made and have been fine-tuned with all the unique qualities you will need to excel in life and marriage. God has placed in you, great qualities that would enable you bring out the best in whatever your hand touches, and you must learn to use this great attribute in your home. This is why, all through this month, I shall be looking at The Woman and Her Home.

The home is the woman’s domain. What she makes of it, generally affects every other aspect of her life. Once she recognises her place in her husband’s life, her role in fashioning her children, her responsibility towards her in-laws and her God-given assignment, she has brought heaven down in her home.

To begin this all important and expository topic, I will be sharing with you this week, on: Becoming A Productive Woman.

Every woman is created to be a blessing, not a burden. God’s intention is that wherever a woman is found, she becomes an asset, not a liability. Remember that when Eve joined Adam, life was supposed to be better for him. She was to be an asset to him, a help not a hindrance. The Bible says: And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him (Genesis 2:18).

As a woman, you are to bring positive changes to your husband’s life. There must be a difference in his life because you are married to him; and that difference should be glaring for all to see. It is your responsibility to help him attain the greater heights God has prepared for him. This is where your productivity comes in.

No matter your status as a woman, you must learn to work with your hands in order to give value. I have observed that no man wants a wife that is a burden to him; every man wants to marry an asset. If a woman is not productive, she will invariably be burdensome to her husband. The Bible says: Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands (Proverbs 31:10/13). Another instance is the story of a woman called Lydia. She was a seller of purple – in essence, she was a productive woman, a blessing to her generation (Acts 16:14).

God has designed a life of superlative results for you, whether you are married or single, you can be resourceful and productive. As a woman with the mind of Christ, you must trust God for divine ideals that will propel your business or career forward. It was just one divine idea that gave Jacob possession of all his benefits in labour. Perhaps you might be engaged in a particular business that seems not to be profitable; rather than sit down bemoaning your lot, take a bold step towards doing something else.

There are many things your hands can do. You only need to open up your heart to God for divine ideas. When those ideas come, work diligently towards making them a reality. Many people have had various ideas that would have resulted in their success, but they have allowed them to slip away.

What I do is that wherever I am, I have a piece of paper and a pen to write down ideas that may drop into my spirit. Sometimes, certain ideas come to me while in Church. For instance, we had a major Women’s Convention some time ago. I received the theme of that meeting while in Church, and I quickly wrote it down. As God speaks to you or as certain things drop into your spirit-man, don’t procrastinate and say, “Later on I will put it down”. Write them down immediately. Your brain has great abilities, but it is also prone to forgetfulness. Make use of pen and paper; they never forget!

However, to function in your domain as a woman, you need the grace of God that makes one great. This grace is only available to you when you surrender your life to Christ. Allow Jesus to come into your heart now and your story will never remain the same. You become born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of your life. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
