TOPIC: How To Experience Uncommon Favor (2)
Bible Text: “The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” – Luke 1:28
In the last lesson,we identified two factors of experiencing uncommon favor. The first is to replace fear with faith while the second is to change one’s mentality. This is to establish the fact that nothing is absolutely free. As free as salvation is there are certain conditions to be met in order to be saved. For believers in Christ, uncommon favor is our heritage but it has a price tag. There is what you must do to provoke it.

In addition to the previously identified conditions,one of the most important things that must be done in order to experience uncommon favor is to pursue righteousness. Someone has described righteousness as the gateway to uncommon favor. According to Psalm 5:12, the Bible says “for thou, Lord, Wilt bless the righteous, with favour Wilt thou compass him as a shield.
Righteousness implies right standing with God. It means doing things right in accordance to God’s standard. In her own way,Mary was in right standing with God. She was following God’s counsel as a young teenager. While in courtship,she remained a virgin unlike many of our young ladies today. She never involved herself in cohabitation as many do today. According to the scripture,she was engaged with Joseph and they were already planning for their marriage to be performed and conducted according to the acceptable tradition of the time. They were not going to cut corners nor jump the queue like so many ladies and young men do today.This was very instrumental to attracting uncommon favor.
Another factor is the anointing of the Holy Spirit.Holy Spirit is a catalyst of divine favour. In Luke 1: 35, when Mary questioned the angel as to the possibility of the prophetic declaration,angel Gabriel responded saying, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you…” The implication of this is that without the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit,the experience of uncommon favor is not possible.
In psalm 45:7, the Bible describes the place of anointing of the Holy Spirit in provoking the release of divine favor saying, “thou lovest righteousness and hateth wickedness; therefore God, thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. The anointing of the Holy Spirit puts a unique attraction. It emits an aroma, attracts and magnetizes favour. You magnetize favour by reason of the smell that the anointing places on your life.
Beloved of God, uncommon favor is not common. It is reserved for the anointed and to those who pursue righteousness among other things. Therefore get connected,it’s your time to receive uncommon favor.
PROPHETIC PRAYER
I pray for you today:
- May the Lord establish you in His righteousness in the name of Jesus.
- He will clothe you with the garment of righteousness
- You will receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit for uncommon favor
- On the day of your favor,you will not be found wanting
- Before the end of this year,uncommon favor will locate you.
So shall it be in Jesus name. Amen.
