The MESSAGE:
Beloved, if you want 2019 to be an exceptionally prosperous and fulfilled year for you, you must say no to unbelief and pray it out of your life. Unbelief is a sin. It is wicked, destructive and has sent many to hell. It was unbelief that made many children of Israel to perish in the wilderness. Though they left Egypt with others in their dramatic deliverance, they did not make it to the Promised Land. It was unbelief that made ten out of the twelve Israeli spies sent to Canaan to report that they were like grasshopper compared to the inhabitants of the land and they would be like bread to them. That was in spite of God’s clear mandate that He had given them the land and that they should go ahead and possess it. In contrast, Joshua and Caleb who believed God’s report made it to the Promised Land. This is a food for thought for you, child of God.
Our Fire Scripture for today reveals that Jesus called the people he was addressing an adulterous and wicked generation because of their unbelief. The same account in Matthew 12:39-45. The Bible says that whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). If Jesus condemned unbelief and rebuked people who exhibited it, we should make conscious effort to get rid of unbelief in our lives. What are the dangers of unbelief we should learn and avoid?
Unbelief is wicked and dangerous because it always requires more proof. In Luke 11:29-30, Jesus said that the wicked generation was wicked because it seeks for a sign, an evidence that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of God. They didn’t need more proofs to believe this because Jesus had healed all manner of sicknesses and diseases. He had cast out demons all over the land. He had walked on water and multiplied fish and loaves of bread. He had done this in the view of the people yet they sought for signs from Him. The generation was also said to be wicked because they said that Jesus was performing miracles with the power of the devil. They knew if they admitted the truth that Jesus worked with God’s power, they would have to bow to His authority. They didn’t want to do that. Just as it was in that generation, so it is in our generation. Many people have seen ample proofs of the awesome power and miracles of Jesus as well as the wonders of His resurrection but they chose wilful unbelief. They will be judged except they repent.
Beloved, do not let unbelief make the Lord tag you wicked and condemn you. Do not be ignorant of the devices of the enemy. Unbelief will rob you of all the blessings that God has for His children. Unbelief can shut the door of mercy and can close the heavens. It is the enemy’s trick to make life difficult for you and cast you to hell in the end. I encourage you to arise and say no to the enemy. Say no to unbelief!

- Every good thing that unbelief has stolen from me, I recover you by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- O God, arise and increase my faith, in the name of Jesus.
- My faith will not fail, in the name of Jesus.
