1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

MFM Devotional For Today 2022 MESSAGE:
An evil embargo refers to a legal prohibition. It is a limitation placed on a person, place or thing. It is a demonic strategy used to prevent good things from reaching a person or thing. It is also an evil programming to stop or slow down a person’s progress. The enemy has successfully used evil embargo to destroy the lives and destinies of so many people. As believers, we should not be ignorant of this device and weapon of the enemy.

The Bible reveals different kinds of embargo. The first is called collective embargo. In 2 Kings 6:25, Samaria was besieged. That was another kind of collective embargo on all its populace. There was the case of a family with four daughters of marriageable ages, yet they could not get married. There was another family of five daughters, they all got married at different times and returned within the first year to their father’s boys quarters one after the other. These ladies were victims of collective evil embargo. The second type of evil embargo is selective or individual embargo. In this case, the enemy singles out just one person in a family or group and places an embargo on him or her. The third type of evil embargo is called financial embargo. If a victim of financial embargo invests in a business or venture that yields huge amount of money for other people, he or she will get small returns or may even suffer a loss. In addition, opportunities that should yield profit or financial gains for the person will constantly pass him or her by.
Reuben, the first born of Jacob, was a victim of evil embargo. In Genesis 35:22, the Bible records that he slept with Bilhah, his father’s concubine. Jacob did not react until in Genesis 48, when he issued blessings on his sons before he died. Unlike other sons, he issued curse on Reuben: “Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: unstable as water, thou shalt not excel.” This curse became an evil embargo, destiny limitation and impediment that Reuben and his descendants carried for decades until the curse was broken by Moses (Deuteronomy 33:6).
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Every embargo placed on my moving forward by wicked elders, be lifted, in the name of Jesus.
- Every embargo of evil load, weighing me down, be removed by the hands of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
- Every family collective embargo delaying my spiritual and physical progress, be lifted now, in Jesus’ name.
EVENING
- Every embargo I have placed on myself, be broken now, in the name of Jesus.
- Every curse of saints over my destiny, be broken now, in the name of Jesus.
- Any curse of satan over my life, I break you with the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord by Your mercy and grace upon me, today, remove every brass heaven and iron floor from me, in the name of Jesus.
